New Supermarket Concept Uses Digital Signage Shelf-Edge Displays To Engage Shoppers
SEEN & NOTED: TONISVORST, GERMANY —
a Bavaria-based manufacturer and distributor of LCDs and digital signage solutions is showcasing a new deployment utilizing their in-store digital shelf labeling solution called Shelf Vision. Shelf Vision is a shelf level electronic point-of-sales display system that enables retailers to easily update product information, prices, and display video-based promotional messages at the point-of-decision.
According to current marketing studies, most purchasing decisions are made directly at the point-of-sale such as in front of a shelf, so micro-screen digital signage displays are starting to make inroads with retailers.
The Shelf Vision system is being tested in a new supermarket concept store in Tönisvorst, Germany that also includes additional digital signage displays panels throughout the store. Shelf Vision also provides high-contrast ratios and sharpness levels that make it possible to display crisp barcodes and QR Codes at shelf level so that consumers can take advantage of mobile-based offers using their smartphones.
